No, there should be no downtime during the transfer process. Your domain will remain active and accessible throughout the transfer assuming there is an active nameserver attached to it.
You will need to obtain the authorization code from your current registrar. However, you do not need to contact them directly to initiate the transfer; our system will handle the process once you provide the necessary information.
In most cases, expired domains cannot be transferred. In somecases, you will need to renew the domain with your current registrar before initiating the transfer.
